Why should I join?

Members benefit from:

• Free admission on Open Days (normal adult admission fee is £11.00).
• Visit as many times as you wish each year.
• Plus1 members can be accompanied by one guest on all visits. Your companion can be a different person on each visit.
• Invitations to special events – a chance to meet other members at receptions, talks etc.
• ‘The Mansion’ – our journal, published several times a year with details of what’s going on at the Mansion and historical articles.
• A refund of your car parking fee in the Buckholt car park.
• Voting rights at Trust meetings – you have a say in the future of the Mansion

By becoming a member, you help to provide much-needed funds to assist in the conservation of the unique Gothic Revival building.

The Mansion is an amazing example of Victorian construction techniques.

It has particularly fine quality stone carving.

The building is largely unchanged since work stopped about 1870.

The Mansion is the finest work of the young local architect Benjamin Bucknall, and is one of few buildings in the UK to reflect the ideas of the famous French architect Viollet-le-Duc.

It is a house like no other – an exceptional local building of national importance.

Membership brings you the satisfaction of supporting the charity and helping future generations to enjoy and learn from this unique building.

How much does it cost?

Annual individual membership is £35pa

Plus1 membership is £40pa – free admission for member + guest

We also offer Corporate Membership for local companies and organisations. This costs from £100 for a year, allowing 12 free admissions. (£500 for 60 free admissions, £1000 for 120). If you would like to become a corporate member, please contact the office.
